The legend of Zorro continues on GMA Telebabad.

Kilala siya bilang isang kabalyerong tumutulong sa mga inaapi—a name that can strike fear and hope at the same time. Siya si Zorro, ang iconic outlaw who ranks as one of the most well-loved and enduring heroes of modern times.

Now, he's riding his horse into the hearts of Filipinos through as GMA-7 launches the first-ever Filipino version of the sensational saga. Ang Zorro ay isang period epic that dates back to the 1900's, isang era na muling bubuhayin sa GMA Telebabad.

Helming this project are two of the country's most distinguished directors: Mark Reyes and Dominic Zapata. GMA-7's Zorro is thus far the most ambitious program to be produced in the local setting this year. At ang kwento nito ay based sa novel ni Johnston McCulley na pinamagatang The Curse of Capistrano, ang nobelang unang nagpakilala kay Zorro.

Our version of Zorro continues to saga through the original Zorro's nephew Antonio, who will be portrayed by the Primetime King himself, Richard Gutierrez. Abandoned by his courtesan mother, hindi malalaman ni Antonio ang kanyang tunay na pamilya until later on, when he has already become of age. And by that time, marami nang masalimuot na pangyayaring huhubog sa kanyang pagkatao at pag-iisip.

By that time, handa na si Antonio na maging si Zorro.

In preparation for his role, Richard Gutierrez underwent painstaking horseback riding lessons together with his co-stars. He also studied fencing under Benny Garcia, the coach of the Philippine Fencing Team.

This world-class program is shot in the picturesque and Spanish-inspired location found in Bagac, Bataan. Isang lugar na talaga namang hihila sa mga manunood pabalik ng Hispanic times. And to further appeal to the taste of Filipino viewers, GMA-7's Zorro will showcase a different made-for-television program that is visually rich and fresh.

Zorro boasts of a top-notch production with a creative team na hindi pipitsugin. The production designs are made by no other than Rodell Cruz, while the costumes are lovingly created by Bill Gustillo. At siyempre, to complete the Spanish-era experience, certain effects will be added to the show—na provided naman ng Riot, Inc.

Also joining the team of Zorro are Professor Leo Abaya for consulation sa design, and Professor Dez Bautista for consultation sa historical accuracy.
