About Me:
I'm a director for theatre, used to be an actor but now I'm not. I direct a lot of original work, and big stupid comedies. I'd like to do more musicals. So I guess I'm looking for the next great original musical comedy. I'm pretty career-minded right now, working production at my old grad school while pursuing directing.
I'm pretty shy and quiet until I get comfortable (or drunk) with you. A good night out for me is in a dive bar drinking cheap shots with a group of friends. I like to dance, but to songs, not house music (I'm not a huge fan of big clubs). I'm in love with my DVR, but I think it's pulling away from me. I like video games, and hours can slip away without me noticing. I like a lot of things considered geeky - comics, sci-fi - but I try not to let them rule my life. I often fail at that.
I'm an atheist. I get along fine with religious folks, but I'm definitely not one of them.
I come from a big family, and my nieces and nephews are very important to me.
I have a dark and dirty sense of humor.
Essentially, I'm a godless pinko homo leftie.

Who I Want to Meet:
If meeting as "friends," just about anyone.
If meeting as "dating/relationship men," I prefer guys who are neither afraid of the gay scene nor all about it. Someone who's equally comfortable in an East Village gay bar or a straight Irish pub. I really don't care about straight-acting/gay-acting, just be comfortable with whoever you are. You don't have to be an artist, but you have to be passionate about something in your life (or at least trying to figure out what you're passionate about). Someone who shares some of my interests and absolutely doesn't share others. To say looks don't matter is always a lie, but I don't really have a type, and I'm attracted to a very broad range of guys, so I'll say traditional good looks don't really matter (although there's nothing wrong with them, either).
If meeting as "activity partners" - I'm not really sure what that means. My mom quilts. Wanna meet my mom?

Testimonials and Comments for Brian
can count your close friends on one hand?
Brian. Right there on ol' lefty. I was this
mousy, shell of a woman & I don't know what
he saw, but he plucked me from the darkness
& madness ensued. My year in New York
was the best year of my life. All because of
this guy. The GREATEST 80's dancer in the
world. I'll never dance with another. Freekin'
brilliantly funny. The most intelligent man I
know. Kind and brutally honest in one of
those "why can't the rest of the world be this
way" sort of ways. Grounded to the center of
the earth, yet not above an appropriately catty
comment whispered over the brim of the
perfect vodka tonic. You want to stand next to
him at a party. An artistic genius. You should
read his writing. And his directing? I sit there
in complete awe going, "How did he come up
with that??" He is a living paradox,
embodying everything wonderful that
shouldn't be able to exist toget
taking me to gay clubs that no longer
exist? Not very well, I'd reckon. He's
a keeper.
Brian. We had a radio show together
in college and it is one of my fondest
memories of school. He is unbearably
funny, smart, and talented. He is an
amazing director, actor, writer, and
typist. I've had a longstanding wish
that Brian was eternally my downstairs
neighbor so we could share our lives
like Mary and Rhoda - but I get to be
Rhoda. Brian is the Eyes of Jericho
and the bees knees - anyone who
doesn't love brian is a crazy bastard.
That's all I have to say about that.
Love and Spanish Club Meetings, Annie
me to theater in manhattan parks. And I
love him dearly for that. He is super
cool and I am glad to say he is a
friend.
scary priests and he has never eaten a
banana.
that wasn't. . .alas, one can dream.
you. That's not a look of distain, but
a deer in the headlights, and once he's
convinced you don't hate him, he'll be
the funniest, smartest, most loving
friend you'll ever have. He knows his
own likes and isn't afraid to ignore
the boundaries of capital-A art to
enjoy those likes. He can talk
knowledgeably about Shakespeare,
Elizabethan History, Neil Gaiman, Phil
Jimenez, 80's pop music, and The
Amazing Race. He loves to dance, and
especially loves to do it with his six
siblings, and thirteen nieces and
nephews.
