I'm a curious person. I enjoy learning about various topics - from Catalan history to wine making to cooking - and I love to travel. I grew up in Ohio and I've lived in Boston (four years); Miami (one year); Davenport, Iowa (one year); New York City (five years); London (one summer); Buenos Aires (two months); Quito, Ecuador (two months) and Barcelona (two months). I've also spent a few weeks in Paris, Madrid, Rome, Florence and Mendoza (Argentina) and I've visited many other places.

In general, I'm at a strange point in my life - I'm transitioning from a super overachieving narrowly focused position to a more liberating position of figuring out what I really want out of life (without as many judgments attached to the various possibilities). Its kind of hard to be in that position in America, especially when you already have what many people "want," but frankly, wasn't really enjoying the never-ending mechanical quest for ... for what? success? power? money? bigger apartment? private jet? recognition from people I no longer respect?

Not sour grapes - you've got to be in a position to give it up before you can say you don't want it - but definitely an awakening.

Anyway, right now, here is what I love: travel, food, wine, music, books, learning, sex, conversations, going to the gym, macintosh computers, radical feminists, openness, honesty, fearlessness, Bologna (Italy), Italians, Burgundy, beautiful weather, writing.

I'm mainly looking for people in New York who are curious, funny, sincere, engaged, intelligent and generally interesting to be around. Super ambitious investment banker / real estate broker types not what I'm looking for...
