Occupation:
Mad Genius
-
Hobbies and Interests:
Science, Art, Culture, Nature, Humor, Sex, Love, Drugs, Life, Burning Man
-
Favorite Books:
'Snow Crash' by Neal Stephenson (actually anything by him), 'Know Thyself, Show Thyself' by Dr. Victor August (actually by me), Richard Dawkins, most Carl Sagan. Been through Terry Pratchett and Elmore Leonard phases, & Stephen King's Dark Tower series.
-
Favorite Movies:
Seven Samurai, Memento, Groundhog Day, Fifth Element, High Fidelity, 12 Angry Men, Mr. Deeds Goes to Town, Say Anything, Dr. Strangelove, Hardly Workin'
-
Favorite Music:
Soul Coughing, They Might be Giants, Beastie Boys, rap, classic rock, anything that rocks -- I've found my tastes have changed a great deal over time, though for some reason Brooklyn artists seem to figure prominently in my list. What is 'alternative'?
-
Favorite TV Shows:
South Park, Insomniac, Daily Show, NOVA (or any geeky/science show), and hopefully my own show someday. BTW, please don't brag about not owning a TV -- it doesn't make you more evolved, it just cuts you off and makes it hard to watch DVDs at your place!

About Me:
I'm a writer / artist / mad genius from New York City. I
work with a team of talented nuts called the ILL Clan, and
we create digital cartoons. I'm also an amateur scientist
who finds the natural world intoxicating. I design
interactive LED art, can sing Tom Lehrer's "Elements Song"
and have founded my own satirical white-collar cult.
Considering I'm an agnostic / atheist / rationalist /
skeptic, the fact that I am also referred to as "God" (by
my wonderful friends in the Burning Man community) amuses
the living daylights out of me. (Blessings and answered
prayers available for a small donation.) I try to live a
personal philosophy based upon choosing love over fear,
always considering the other person's position and striving
for humility -- that is, the personal acceptance that you
and I are equally human, with all that entails. I think I
do pretty well, most of the time.

Who I Want to Meet:
Artists. Scientists. Geniuses. Weirdos. Burners. Stoners.
People who have great smiles and who love to laugh. Great
people, like the people who have left testimonials for me
below! People who suspect that the way they think -- not
*what* they think, but *how* they think -- is the exception
rather than the rule. People who are superheroes,
superstars and just plain super!

spend some time with clavis.
can say this about it's John.
Meridith...
Truly a most unique individual...
inspirations i have ever had. He has
taught me so many things. He brought
smiles into my life when i thought none
could exist. My world became a better
place when he entered it. and i spent
my wedding night with him, after he
performed the ceremony that afternoon :)
This is a great and wonderful man.
constantly winks in and out of
existance like a subatomic particle as
he repeatedly proves and disproves his
own existance and alternately bolsters
and eradicates the faith without which
he is nothing. But a golden thread of
logic follows through his tirades, so
the cerebral rollercoaster ride never
leaves the rails. Hold on tight,
though, because he makes liberal use of
paradox and metalogic to fuck with
civilians.
drink before I get started, ;-). You need a
drink before you start talking to him. That's
right, have a few beers, then ask him about
the order of things in the Universe, or about
lost cities, or Einstein, or God. Wait, I forgot,
Clavis is a God! That's what he says
anyway, and I believe him... Yeah, have that
beer and you will believe in Clavis'
"supreme deity" status too! In all
seriousness, Clavis is an archetype of a
creative thinker and so much fun to be
around! Keep it coming Clav!
and hallucinates. He is a man capable of
embracing insanity itself and talking it
through to the other side. Clavis is one of the
sweetest, kindest, strangest, funniest, most
rockingest, coolest, scary-smart boys that
ever lived. Clavis, thank you for being born.
including my mom and my boss. But
Clavis is one of those rare humans (if
he is, in fact, human) who makes my
mental faculties seem limited by
comparison. He's a mad genius, who in
another age would be desperately trying
to resuscitate the dead, or turn the
earth into one giant battery, or split
the atom. What I wonder is: What's
Clavis working on now? What crazy
shit's going to come out of his head
next?
talking about science, then i am in the
wrong dimension. hes like my dimension
gauge. i dont know how i know that in
only one dimension, the proper one,
clavis is obsessed with science, but i
can *feel* its true. when clavis reads
this, he will want quantifiable truth.
i dont have any, buts its ok. i know
its true! i dont have to prove it to
anyone! ps please dont call him
cleatie, thats my grandpas name and it
freaks me out. - love, stacycats
