i love santa fe.
however, i'm torn between my dusty little desert town of santa fe, amsterdam, the east coast, and my overly-green, ridiculously well-kept, walled-off college in southern california. i was raised part-time in new york city and part-time on a vegetarian, yoga-doing hippie commune (called yogaville) in middle-of-nowhere virginia. i probably enjoy sarcasm too much for my own good, have shitty grammar, can't spell, and am big on procrastination. sometimes i get really neurotic. i'm bad at scrabble and can't gamble to save my life. i have bad sleep habits, can easily get addicted to (bad) tv, and lived and studied in amsterdam in last fall. i don't do enough yoga and this annoys my mother, the yoga teacher who had me yoga-ing before i could walk. someday i'll quit smoking for good, but until then i smoke too much, read lots of queer and feminist theory, enjoy cheap (and not-so-cheap) beer, and knit a lot of scarves (not all at the same time...usually). i am not a fan of: geography, timezones, goodbyes, moving three times in a year, having everyone i love scattered all over the country/globe, large birds (peacocks, swans and geese, mainly. i think i need serious therapy for this ridiculous phobia...), rain in southern california, the 10 freeway, airplanes, and insomnia combined with my recent need for more sleep than is humanly possible.
