Sandara made her name in the Phillipines when she entered a talent contest called Star Circle Quest. She managed to become the 1st runner up because of her popularity with viewers whom voted for her. She was then offered with so many projest that ncludes TV commercials, endorsements, dramas and movies. Sandara also managed to record a 6 tracks album under her name in which she garnered double platinum for the record. In early 2008, YG confirmed that Sandara will be part of YG’s new girl group which the female counter of Big Bang. They are now known as 2NE1.

Although young and has no featurings, she is famously known as the granddaughter of one of Korean’s famous dancer, Gong Ok Jin. YG noticed her for her exceptional dancing skills from the internet video that has been circling online. Originally, MinJi was supposed to debut together with an ex-YG trainee May Doni until May Doni decided to switch company. Now, MinJi will debut together with Park Bom, CL and Sandara as the new YG act that will take the Korea Music Industry by storm.

What’s special about CL is,first of all she stole the audience at at 2007 SBS Gayo Daejun when she came onstage and rapped her ways at the end of YG Family’s collaboration performance. She then became one of the most searched person on the net and became immediate favorite to musicians. CL’s charisma and confidence reflected in her performance that night and now she has been labeled as the next big thing. It was even more assuring when she came onstage to assists Uhm Jung Hwa to perrform DJ off Jung Hwa’s promotional activities. Not only did CL lended her rapping skills for other artistes but she also wrote her rapping part in the song What off YMGA’s mini-album. Her fluency in many languages are evident because of her father’s career as an educator in which requires the family to move around to some parts of the world.

Here’s a fun fact about Park Bom; she was suppose to be debuted as a solo artiste in 2007 but YG’s CEO, Yang Hyun Seok decided it would be best to debut her together with CL, MinJi and Sandara. Some fans noted that she looked like the role of the mother of the group because of her gentle and feminime personality.

The group was first mentioned by the press in late 2008, when rumours were spreading that YG was creating a female version of Big Bang named Sista. In response to those rumours, YG Entertainment President Yang Hyun Suk stated that the name was not chosen yet. In January 2009, it was announced that the "Female Big Bang" would debut around July 2009 with three members — CL, Minji, and Bom. Later that month, YG stated that Sandara Park joined the group, with one more member to follow.In the end, YG Entertainment announced that the group would consist of four members and debut sometime in May 2009. The company stated that the group had trained for 4 years, and that their debut album would contain songs produced by G-Dragon.The group's name was initially announced as "21"; however, due to the discovery of a singer with the same name, the group was quickly renamed "2NE1".
