About Me:
I enjoy learning to do things and have a bit of that old school, "I can fix that, why call a plumber?" mentality. Thankfully, I've always admitted when things were too complex and avoided flooding the garage.
I enjoy foreign films, modern art museums and every cuisine known to man. I'm a good cook, making elaborate dinners for friends. However, I think being finicky is a character flaw and like buffalo wings and hamburgers. And pizza is probably my favorite food--and I am not talking about the goat cheese and sundried tomatoes kind (but that does sound good).
I listen to NPR, and I think stand up comedy is better than theater.
My friends say that if I had a superpower, I'd throw people across the room by rolling my eyes at them. But they say I'd show great restraint in how many people went flying--only the arrogant and powerful.
-
Who I Want to Meet:
I like people who are cool, enjoy life, take care of themselves, and don't let little things rattle them. I like people who enjoy experimenting with music, food, movies, ideas, and skills.
I like people who are comfortable with themselves and have some street smarts to go with their education. I like people who are doing something they really enjoy--or at least find satisfying or rewarding--and understand the pleasures of doing nothing, while knowing the satisfaction of doing significant things.
I like women who-like me-are proud of their smarts and strengths but are unashamed of their quirks and weaknesses. I like men who-like me-enjoy being a guy, but not out of concern about appearing straight acting.
It would be nice if you were easy going, laughed a lot, but not too much; talked a lot, but not too much; and enjoyed being in the same room as me, but not too much. This goes back to the coolness thing, very important.

Testimonials and Comments for Erik
his cultural referents!), what one might
call a catch. Erik is not: high-brow or
high-strung. Erik is: whipsmart (watch
out Liz Phair) and my only doctor friend
that I would actually let be my doctor.
Erik is not: anti-social or anti-drug.
Erik is: generous and loyal, except if
you're stupid or cruel. Erik is not:
friends with people who are stupid or
cruel. Erik is: a maestro at menus.
And he can cook a mean hamburger.
Erik is: a rare blend of exuberantly
creative and incisively analytical. And
not a little modest. Now that I really
think about it, Erik is more things than
he's not. And he's my best friend.
