An overdue update: In September '06, I left the company I started almost a decade earlier to begin a new life with my partner in Rio De Janeiro. I still have strong ties to both the company (still an owner) and Washington (a condo and so many friends), but am excited to see what's next for me.

In the meantime, I've started a blog (CitizenCrain.com), and that's been a lot of fun. After a decade of writing every 1, 2 or 3 weeks, I've enjoyed the freedom to write every day, sometimes several times a day, about a thousand different things. Take a look if you want!

OK, the older profile: I'm a recovering lawyer who switched careers about seven years ago to start up a company. Love my work. Moved to Washington DC in '01 after 8 years in Atlanta. I'm from the South but not always proud of it. I'm a Cowboys fan and not always proud of them either. Apparently I have pride issues.

On my very first trip to Brazil, I fell in love twice: First with Brazil, and then with a Brazilian. But always happy to make new friends and play matchmaker. ;)
