of my friends that I know my mom would swap me
for. But with red hair and a resume that includes
the Atlantic, wouldn't any mother? I also know that
she pours a mean colored-water tequila sunrise
and is the queen of making up nicknames for
people. This is why I do love her, despite my raging
envy.
as a cloudless day in Reykjavik.
There's a magical moment, an alignment,
that occurs with Genevieve when the
lighting is just right and the fourth
beer really starts to take hold. She'll
be in the middle of a particularly
interesting anecdote - last time it was
13th century Teutonic knights - when
all of a sudden her sentence trails off
and her eyes glaze over. You wait,
breathless, for the end of her thought,
but it never comes. Across the room
it's clear she's spied her true
passion. No, not Andrew. It's the
karaoke machine. And that's when you
hang on tight with both hands, because
the ride of your life has just begun.
lots of big-kid things like trying on
business clothes, hot-shit clothes, and
writing things that will make me
instead of break me. There's something
awesome about making her laugh really
hard. Also, when she chooses to play,
she kicks ass at capture the flag. I'm
on her team next time.
bus seat on a long trip. But this
couldn't hide from me what a wonderful
person she was (even if it did make me
a little afraid of her). She always
makes me laugh with her clever turns of
phrase, and she always has a story
about an adventure I wish I had been
on.
emergency room in at least 2 countries
(that i can recollect), sewn up my
pants for me, and pretended to be me on
the phone to quit a job for me. as
should be clear to all, either
genevieve is a great friend, or i have
some maturing to do.
aside from being loyal and helpful,
genevieve is viciously hilarious and
smart. just don't make her mad, because
she'll either throw a cookie at you or
stop talking to you, which will not get
you anywhere if your pants need to be
sewn and god knows they're not sewing
themselves.
time, but I'm smitten. It's been a
very long time since I've clicked with
someone that fast on an initial
meeting. (Andrew, don't get jealous...
my intentions are merely honorable) If
only all girls could be as smart and
sarcastic as Genevieve.
could you possibly be looking for in a
friendster? is she sarcastic? you
betcha. will she embarrass you?
definitely, and you'll thank her for
it. will she fight you to the death
over an obscure grammatical point and
leave you wanting more? and HOW! this
is a woman who punches wedding guests
in the stomach. this is a woman who arm
wrestles her boss on her living room
floor. this is the woman you've been
looking for your whole life. sorry
boys, she's taken!
