I cook for a living.

I have numerous scars on my arms from pulling 350
degree sheetpans out of high ovens, burning the flesh
instantly. One very recent one when in my sleep i
rubbed off the dead skin, practically down to the ink in
my tattoo. I can see the ink in the scab.. ill
have to get that fixed.

My left index finger has multiple scars on it from my
knife tip slipping on pepper seeds or other garbage
laying on my cutting board causing me to make a nice
slice in my flesh, usually being stopped from going to
the bone by the fingernail. In fact I have a cut there right
now. Healing... if thats what you want to call it. I've
actually been trying to keep this one clean, unlike the
others, so it wont get infected.. so it will heal faster.
My left index and middle finger also have beveled off
tips from slicing the corner of my finger off whilst
cutting veggies frantically at work.

My left thumb has a circular scar, also from slicing off
the tip. They sewed that one back on. They told me it
would die but it would also create a natural band-aid.
And so it happened... when the skin was totally dead i
pulled out the stitches and peeled the dead flesh off
only to reveal spanking new skin! No scab at all! I was
amazed. Its still tender though and probably always
will be.

The knuckle on my left middle finger, nearest the
fingertip, where the finger guides the knife blade, has
been knicked many times and is starting to get a
buildup of scar tissue. Sometimes it gets in the way
while i'm cutting.

The backs of both hands have random cuts, scrapes,
and burns.. from blindly reaching onto shelves and into
produce boxes and getting cut by the staples and sharp
edges, chipped dishes, speed racks, and other hand
smashing, cutting, and bruising kitchen equipment.

form a friendship with... its hard to meet people out
here.

and plus to stay in touch with all my friends in PA...
