i am a girl in her late twenties who is
in age denial. i had a penpal, from ages 12-14, from the
USSR---i have convinced myself i was partly responsible for
solidifying the end to the cold war. i'd like to think i'm
a mix between a girl
out of the 60's (i have a current tammy wynette/loretta
lynn/dusty springfield/any woman with 60s beehive hair
obsession), part goth
girl, and part indie rock lass. i have this very intense
interest in historic sites--whenever i'm out and i see an
historical marker of some kind, i have to stop and
investigate (ive lost count on how many times i've read the
signs in the Historic U Street district in DC). i enjoy the
company of
honest and genuine
people and have been looking for the type of boy who will
take MY last name...i hate when girls claim to "hate girls"-
-there's nothing better than surrounding yourself with
amazing, strong, opinionated women. i have been told by
many people, on several different occasions, that i remind
them of Enid in Ghost World--especially the record store
scene. i like
reading the
types of literature
that most
people refer to as "boring". i like to consider myself an
intellectual,
but to do so sounds a bit snotty, so suffice to say that i
enjoy learning. i like to be around people who can teach
me new things. one should never be afraid to ask questions
when something isn't clear. to do so isn't an admission of
weakness or ignorance, it's an insight into a strong
character...a desire to progress as an individual. i seem
to have this legacy of giving impromptu speeches to random
members of the public--when the situation warrants it,
people should certainly be told off. i like
to drive around with my windows down while obnoxiously
blasting my james brown cd. i enjoy
writing hot checks for things, two days before money will
be in the bank. in high school, i was voted most likely to
set a fashion trend. i like to tell long,

people with a penchant for substantive
conversation. people who want to help subvert
the "system" with me, while adding our names to the
Cointelpro "watch list". people who don't mind some
improper dancing, in
