Through the years we have become very
close and sometimes I wonder why I
still talk to him. He can really be a
goof sometimes. Once one gets to
understand the evil that lies beneath
the surface you will learn to
appreciate the true nature of my
little island boy. I love this guy
and unfortunately we will probably be
friends for many years to come.
AIDS/ LifeCycle 2 with Adriano whom I
met two years ago on my first AIDS
Ride, California AIDS Ride 8. I just
remembered both me and Adraino
squealing in delight as we were
reunited while Bernie documented the
whole thing in some multi-media
production (tape recorder, video
camera, everything). But he's one great
Ilocano manong (shit and all along I
was calling him ading when he's
actually older than me...GASP...aye
susmariosep...where's my rosary?) who
is a wonderful sweetheart and can
totally make me laugh. He actually
rides faster than me which is so not
fair (lol...you know I love you and I
did beat you down that stretch out of
lunch on Day 2). But seriously, he's
the type of guy you would want to have
in your corner as a loving and caring
person who would stick by your side no
matter what. He's pretty athletic, has
a good job, he can sing, he has a great
heart. And therefore, he would be the
kind of guy I would trust to be a good
ninong (godfather) to my kids (if I
decide to have any) and teach them
proper Ilocano while I run for
political office 15 years down the road
(well, he doesn't necesarily have to do
that you know). But honestly, I think
Bernie is one of those guys that makes
you wonder if you two were separated at
birth because you bond so well. What
more can I say?
someone is saying from their simple
utterance of a one-syllable word that doesn't
technically mean anything that that person is
definitely some sort of soul mate. in the past
2 years we have become just that. gotta
love the late night eating binges, the baker's
dozen donuts, and gotta be able to stand the
gas. did i mention he has a 12 incher? so
he says. i will never really know.
