About Me:
Although I subscribe to the scientific method, I'm a sucker for serendipity. My roommate in LA interpreted hip-hop lyrics for me. Through her, I have discovered that I probably don't have It, and if I did, I certainly wouldn't know how to shake It like a saltshaker. I am fascinated by huge natural events like earthquakes, thunderstorms, tornadoes and hurricanes. Whenever I'm in public, people come up to me and start conversations. This occasionally gets me into trouble. I moved to Los Angeles to study alternative transportation and now live in Berkeley to use alternative transportation. I have many ideas, but difficulty putting them into action: I think I need someone to delegate work to. Or maybe someone to go to work for me so I can do everything else I want to do. A friend described me as being soft on the outside but with a hard edge underneath. Not sure if that's desireable.
Current projects:
- culling the old and infirm from my wardrobe
- thinking about making movies and sound art
- wedding plans for next April
- sewing 1940's style aprons
- organizing and redecorating
- finishing knitted arm warmers for Keri and knitted socks for Micah
- traveling too much for work
-
Who I Want to Meet:
A geologist who will fly me over the Bay Area and point out fault lines. Smart, happy people, especially if they are kind of smart-ass. Cyclists. A hiking buddy. Anyone with a passion for something and a willingness to share that passion. People who do their own thing, without worrying about looking dumb, and perhaps even relishing the fact that they might look dumb. Someone who thinks about old things in new ways. People who will inspire me to be more creative. Someone to make dinner with.

Whether it's exploring the flame-retardant potential of common household napkins while concocting frat-type beverages, enjoying delicious cookies, or doing Buns of Steel, Lauren is always ready to go.
Seriously, try showing up at Lauren's house sometime after midnight, and see what kind of hilarity ensues.

mama.... thas right. She's serious
with a cracking sense of humor that
melts out, smart, artsy, hip and hot,
has a good heart and a tremendous
inner strength that she forgets. One
of the best roommies I've ever had,
and she's the first person I've met
who blowdries her sheets before
slipping into bed on a chilly *LA*
night.
things change and some don't. Lauren
possesses all of the qualities to make
most people green with envy. She has
a beautiful mind and a warm heart.
Yes, maybe she does over-explain her
jokes, but it only adds to her charm.
She is an incredible artist and has
all the makings of a world-class
philanthropist. Give this chick Bill
Gates' money and she'll save the
world. Oh, and DON'T call her a
chick. But DO give her money. Hope
to see you again someday, Lulu.
