on Sunday. Snappy, Breezy, Brilliant and Funny. Snow White's OTHER
dwarves? No! Words that describe Gareth's writing. Words that describe
Gareth. He's the only guy I know who can drop Ilya Prigogine's Theory
of Dissipative Structures into casual conversation and make you all
tingly inside. He's got excellent taste in music, food and friends.
He's been rated XXX by the Motion Picture Association of America. He's
so cool, I wish I could save his coolness in a jar. He'll leave sweet
little coffee rings on your mug and around your heart. He can make you
laugh til you cry, and when you cry, he'll make you laugh til you laugh
your way out of whatever made you cry. He's among the bravest, most
compassionate, wonderful human beings on the planet. I consider myself
incredibly lucky to have met him and to count him as my dearest friend.

was, he's one. He's lived on a commune,
dropped acid with Aldous, lived an
entire year on nothing but happy
thoughts, broke bread with Hef, and once

dress. He did invent the internet
though, and because he's "more machine
than man, now" he's the guy you want
watching your back when the robots take
over. A good friend indeed.

the one that makes you gnash and
wail: "How come the really smart ones
are usually arrogant and cold?"
or "He's really, really sweet, but just
not that sharp." But not our Gar: this
guy is arrogant AND stupid. I kid, of
course; I kid because I love. He
really does have it all: the smarts,
the sweets, the tarts, the curiosity,
the wit, the joie de vivre, lovely skin
(he totally coulda lied about his age
but I don't think he lies -- or
fronts), and one of the nicest dad-kid
relationships I've ever seen with his
son.
