clock, the ball in my hands, my team
trailing by a point. I dribbled left and
dribbled right, but the defender wasn't
giving any ground. I felt the sickness of
knowing in my heart-of-hearts that all
was lost, but then, out of the corner of
my eye, I spotted Him.
There, along the right baseline, was my
teammate, my friend, and the one who I
knew would be our savior, demanding

Lyman, having forgotten he had his
Chihauhau in the trunk of his car, asked
me to watch LaPhriaka (his dog) for
him while he went inside to purchase a
new trik bag.
When Lyman returned, to my shock and
amazement, he had bought me an
inflatable air mattress so that I wouldnt
have to sleep on the hard ground
anymore. Stunned that a person who
didnt even know me would go out of
their way for me I decided to go on a
quest to show that type of kindness to
everyone I met. I soon learned that I
could use the air mattress as a
floatation device .. thereby allowing me
to cross waterways and letting me
share acts of kindness and charity well
beyond my former borders.
My life, my very future was changed
because of
