of '92 in the back seat of a car in the
outskirts of lake geneva. she had just
finished her freshman year of college
and i was a naive young boy just out of
high school. anyways, me and my buddy
todd and his girlfriend at the time
stacy drove up from chicago for a 4th
of july party in fontana. colleen and
her friend jody (who were both friends
with stacy from the u of i) were going
to the same party but for some reason
they decided to take the train instead
of getting a ride with us. so we picked
them up at the rail station, i don't
know, maybe it was in racine or maybe
it was kenosha. maybe it was the metra
maybe it was amtrak. colleen partied
hard that weekend and for as long as
i've known her she's been going all
out, even when she is sick, and is
always at the forefront of indie rock
and turntabilism. colleen is one cool,
laid back old-schooler with a new-
school flair.
some. She's got a back-up wazoo where she
keeps reserve quantities of creativity, just in
case. And despite her insane morbid aversion
to condiments of any kind -- she'd probably
rather clean grease traps for the rest of her
life than eat a ketchup-dipped french fry --
she's one helluva lady.
