Ben Wadler

      That's me.

"Easily stereotyped as: sensetive artist, Jersey boy, neurotic Jew. I prefer the Beatles to the Stones, and dogs to..."

      • Truth be told ,Vanja, that scoundrel, did--and does!--sip champagne from Ben's slipper. And more! And yet, I say to myself, as I sit there eyeing that matted and stinky foot envelope on Ben's floor, when I wake in the morning, I cannot blame him: jealousy. There was a time when all my pleasure, all my misery, all my desire was caught in an oblique orbit around that dark wadlerstar: we'd finish and he'd roll over with his back to me; i'd crawl into his bed and he'd be merely tolerant, flicking at night my hands from his chest; or, worse and often, i'd wake in the morning, with the smell of our two heads of the pillow, haunted by a third: and I'd see a tight dark coil there, on the pillowcase: whose hair is that, I'd ask. What are you talking about, Ben would say. That hair, I would repeat, and he would be silent, and I'd see that slipper, soggy there on the rug from a nightworth of sips, and I can tell you for four months no one heard any name from my mouth than "Ben": Why? Why?

      • From the very moment of our first meeting -- o blessed chance! -- Ben & I have been inseparable, more brothers than friends, yoked one to the other by an insuperable, almost mystical connection. From the story of our first meeting, when a rainbow spontaneously etches itself in the skies directly above our heads, to our most recent interviews, in which we sit with our knees touching and finish each others' sentences, we are more lovers than brothers. I draw the line, however, at Ben's dogging me to be photographed sipping champagne from his slipper, which I vow to bitter & rapacious heaven I shall never do.

Men without Ben mixed in there too...

      • Ben is not as tuff as he looks.
However I would be shook if he was
ever lending a critical eye. I think Ben
is the most talented artist under the
age of 25. Don't forget about us when
        you blow up.

      • If I'm rubber and you're glue, then Ben is gum,
which partakes of the essence of both.
Gumlike, both sticky and bouncy, Ben is a
        great friend.
