      • what can i say that others haven't?!
there is no one testimonial that can
do you justice. and if someone
actually comes up with a description
that's too accurate, too many people
may learn of you and ruin our last
        remaining perfect corner of God's
green earth. the best i can do is to
confess my love, but as quietly as
        possible.

vermont but somehow i did. i'm from
connecticut and i love that state. in
fact, i love a lot of things. but
there's room in my heart for you,
vermont. see if you can squeeze in
        between sunny days and meatloaf.

      • Ah, Vermont. I love you. So beautiful.
So peaceful. So intelligent. I was
telling an acquaintance that I was from
Vermont, and he said he was from
Massachusetts. It was then that I
admitted I was born in Massachusetts,
and he insisted that I was not a
        Vermonter, but a ?mass-hole? When I
asked why, he said ?If my cat crawled in
the oven and had kittens, I would call
them biscuits, would I?? That bastard!
Then I realized that my dad makes maple
syrup in his spare time, I grew up
having to plow the driveway, I?ve swam
in Lake Champlain about 5,000 times, I
have ate Ben and Jerry?s at the orginal
gas-station store on Pine street, and I
still say ?hoit? and ?yut? and ?geezum
crow?. So, I might be reformed
        flat-landah, but deep down I?m a
Vermonter, and I?ll kick anyone?s ass
that tries to take that away from me.

      • Vermont my family moved your way from
Scotland in the 1700s but later on they
split for Canada. Something about being
Empire Loyalists. If they could have
only foreseen Ben & Jerry's maybe they
would have stuck it out for another 100
        years or so.

      • Vermont is the one that got away. I
sit here in california longing for the
cool misty mornings when rain hangs in
the air like a secret between
        friends. I never appreciated her
while i had her, and now she's gone
        out of my life.
