      • Now tell me who's your housekeeper and what you keep in your house. What about diamonds and gold? Is that what you keep in your mouf? What in the world is in that case? What you got in that case?

      • For my Bengali...Summer Rays:

The rays of summer are but fading
away as each heated streak yields to
        the approaching autumn wind. My
eyes drip of the ocean blue, with each
drop beholding a deep reflection of
the days long behind. My mind
        moves forward and with such
clairvoyance I feel the tides up ahead,
        big tides...waves...perhaps with a
        front of twenty-five feet...maybe even
sixty. Lucky we live for this.

Our boards are now cleverly shaped...
for all those months we walked
barefoot, our boards are now that
        much stronger, that much more
dependent. We can ride it with style,
ride it with grace and ride it all the way
        to our destination...whatever,
whenever and wherever that may be.
And what might we see as we face up
to the swell? What might we see as
we rip through the wash? What could
we see if we just looked? What
should we see as we ride that wave?
Oh what glorious victory it would be,
just you and me on top.

      • We'll realize that though the wave
looked daunting in its approach, it's
but a rippling current, reduced in size
by our sheer force. We'd still feel like
a billion bucks on that ride. I'm sure
        of it.

Soon after, we share some laughs
and hold on to every inch of the cord
because all too soon the summer rays
will come once again, ushering out
        masterpiece finale behind. The bright
white clears the palette and we begin
anew with the opportunity to mix in
our own experience with the other
tinctures of life. And just as the ebb
and flow of the tides are eternal...just
as we know how to mix colors,
creating new schemes with the old,
as the familiar acquiesces itself to the
new...we'll have a record of that
        sensation etched into our memory.
Do you see the cycle? Do you see
the end and beginning? Do you see
my love for you? And if I asked you
to, would you join me for another ride?

      • I'm so proud to call this Bengali
        woman one of my
        best friends. Who would've known
such friendship could evolve from me
responding to a flyer from some
random student trying to sell her
        philo. books! We clicked
        instantly from then on. She's
        Muslim/Bengali/Virgin and I'm
        Buddhist/Chinese/Trisexual and
        that's what makes our relationship
work! We've had an amazing ride
together as we predicted the events of
9/11 two days prior while doing
homework on the Lincoln Memorial as
well as predicting the hot dog stand
showing up across from Gtown's main
        gate. We've biked through Maryland,
swam in lakes, climbed rocks, took
        sled rides down Gtown streets
and jaunted off to cities like NYC and
Baltimore. I've seen her at her worst
        drapped in granny sweaters and
she has seen me naked. I cried my
little chinese eyes out during her
        swearing in ceremony as an
        American not b/c I cared but b/c I
could no longer threaten her w/
        deportation jokes! I LUV U!

      • After reading Sumaiya's law school
        application (very eloquently written
might I add), I can tell you a lot about
this Bangali beauty. As a baby, she was
kidnapped. Her father rescued her and
brought her here on a paper raft. They
ate bananas. That is why Sumaiya
inspires to be a lawyer. To protect
people against the corruption such as
the type she endured in Bangledesh. And
also to make enough money so that she
doesn't have to float around of paper
rafts anymore. I think. How nice of
her!!! That just proves to you how nice
        a person Sumaiya is : )
Sumaiya's tickle points are at her armpits.
Her favorite movie is Napoleon Dynamite
and she makes a killer spaghetti. Rock
        on babe!!!
