it's abstract, but it makes me feel
like i'm standing on the edge of a lake
in fall, my favorite season. there's
leaves in the lake and on the surface,
and they undulate with ripples from a
pebble someone's just thrown.
coming to a poker game in kurt's
basement way back. we were all old
friends of her boyfriend at the time,
and had been playing cards together for
years. not wanting her to feel like an
outsider, we invited erin into the game,
but she refused to play, choosing
instead to nurse a beer on the outskirts
of the table. her being the newcomer,
we thought it was probably due to
shyness. so we asked again and again,
but all invitations were quietly but
firmly declined. finally, maybe feeling
pressured by the group to speak up in
her defense, her boyfriend says, erin
doesn't play games. thinking he was
just being funny, all eyes turned to
erin for a moment. it's true, i don't
play games. this is going back a few
years, but i can say it's as true now as
the day it was first spoke.
camp. We went skinny dipping, had
kissing parties, and were off our
rockers pretty much all of the time.
Erin impressed me right away- girly
and sweet, so determined- she
doesnt mess around. What an ever-
surprising, quirky vision- and it just
gets better and better! Need I
mention thats shes a total babe? I
can't wait to see you next time I'm in
town!
