"hit me on the hip" (call my cell), making friendster into a competition, cryptic texting in accents, going to the gym, finding new ways to walk to places i go every day, drinking...and not in that self distructive way but in that social way, camel toe haikus, incongruity, swanky bars with overpriced martinis with comfy chairs to watch the world go by, ranch tooth

anything margaret atwood (edible woman), anything leonard cohen (the favorite game), rumi, tennessee williams, the sun also rises (hemingway), the age of innocence (wharton), written on the body (winterson - the first line of the book is "why is the measure of love, loss") - sorry kids...i've never finished a harry potter and i don't think i ever will

female singer/songwriters like ani difranco, indigo girls, dar williams, joni mitchell - leonard cohen - showtunes (of course - epsecially sondheim, jason robert brown, other current composers) - classical (bach cantatas, mahler symphonies ( & in particular), tchaikovsky's ballet music, phillip glass, john cage, english art song), NYC street performers, especially the really short guy who's accordian is almost twice his size at the 42nd street station in the mornings, i forgot how much i like counting crows

Liz is someone you can depend on in a crunch; even if you haven't seen her for years and call her up asking her to take off on a cross-country trip performance art piece, she'll do it. At nursing homes and day cares all across the country, we'd show up unexpected and uninvited. We performed our iambic pentameter improvisational musicals about subjects people would groan from the audience.
It was in Nebraska, in the harsh desert, where Liz found herself. She's now 60+days sober and has been here for me for me since the accident. It was her fault, true, but... anyway, thanks, Liz.
and... SCENE.
While there are harsh portions of that reality I don't envy, the part I do is the part where I get to hang out with Liz again. Miss ya Liz.
