former sf bike messenger, former PSYOP sergeant, former rock
critic, former nippophile, former razorfish, former cynic. once and
future new yorker. adoring husband, proud son, problematic
brother, fierce friend, diligent meditator. and i just realized there
are four different pairs of glasses in the five more-or-less random
photos i threw up on here.

it would be an immense pleasure to
venture out into deep space with him
again one day and
mindstorm.
circular ramp at Ikea in Stockholm to
Chinese food on the Hornsgatan, we did
Sweden. From slippy walking on the ice
floes of South Street to Troy's at
3:15am, we did Philly. From skating the
Brooklyn banks to sipping cocktails at
Tabla Bread Bar, we did New York. Oh,
and from lunches at Ebisu's sushi bar
to cucumber vodka at Infusion, we did
dotcom-era San Francisco. I guess we've
rambled far and wide together... and I
have never met anyone with as voracious
an appetite for the good (or the
designy) things in life - if you wanna
know what is good to wear in Tokyo,
where to eat in Austin, what movie
theater to go to find the best Hal
Hartley film in New York - ask Adam.
He's also the one person who was
willing to put up with my numerous
changes over the past 20(!!!!) years.
philanthropist some people say doesn't
exist. As a matter of fact, I'd have to
say that he was fairly nonchalant about
putting my friends and me through
college, stabilizing my future in
business, providing some room and board
for a few days for me in Japan and
sending me on a daytrip to Ise on his
dime. Unless he gets some kind of sick
thrill from this testimonial, there is
proof that philanthropy exists!
"wouldn't it be awesome to meet
him" kinda thing goin' on. someone
from a dreamless (r.i.p) meetup in
london has that on video. good
fortune sometimes happens - after
lots of hoop jumping - visas/passport
extension, flight changes and
transfers, i got to spend a short
amount of time with him. every
minutes worth of hassle and cent
spent on red tape was worth it. adam
mixes a damn fine gin and tonic too.
gun-toting, prada-waering jew in japan!
and he's quite the clever lad to boot.
:)
moblogging craze, but was immediately
touched by his genuine interest in all
that is going on. He sees the bigger
picture and has opened me to questions
I never considered before. I totally
appreciate his non-judgmental
openness...I hope we keep in touch
over time and continue to explore this
era we live in.
book.
