earth who can notice as many
hilarious details in the world of pop
culture as matt can. no one else
makes me laugh so hard and so
consistently at phrases like "angels
on your body," and "where'd you get
them jeans." not to mention his
theory that ashton kucher and paula
poundstone are the same person.
i would say that pop-culture hilarity is
matt's greatest strenght, except that i
think writing is his real superpower.
this kid knows how to tell a story and
he just keeps getting better!
in the world. He's always got the
best stories, and he tells them
brilliantly. He's an amazing writer
and a great friend. Thank god for Jen
Dawson's creative writing class or
he would never have asked me to
read his story. I didn't even know the
guy and he just asked me to critique
his story out of absolutely nowhere.
He said that I just seemed insightful.
That's balls... and thank goodness
he's got'em cause I never could
have done that. Out tastes in movies
and music have been known to clash
from time to time, but that just gives
us a good reason for
heated/hilarious pop culture
arguments and Matt's brilliant
impression of Leonard Cohen ("If it
be your will..."). Matt also has a
unique need for polar temperatures.
He has been known to plop himself
down on tile floors to remain cool
and immediately fall asleep. I miss
the days back in EL when I could see
him almost every day. He's one of
the best.
