every other weekend, tom would drive
the 30 minutes or so from either
Baltimore or Lancaster to my house,
endure my parents making fun of him,
drive me back to his hometown, and do
the same thing the next day, but in
reverse order---or something like
that. tom was responsible for
providing a temporary, but albeit well-
needed, rescue from a pretty rocky home
situation. i will alway remember him
for doing that. our relationship was,
and still is built around
skateboarding, music, and girls. of
course trust and like mindedness are
right up there too, but our
conversations will always steer towards
the first three. i miss tom. closing
story. one time when he came to pick
me up, he hit a goose. and on the way
back he slowed down the car so i could
see it. it was dead alright.
