About Me:
I write a lot, I read a lot, I play a lot of video games, and I'm fascinated by music and sounds. I'm always humming or singing or banging things together or generating other unnecessary noise, which I know annoys the hell out of other people sometimes. Sorry, other people! I can play the following instruments, in order of virtuosity: piano, harp, steel pan (tenor), and mouth. Other than music, my main passions are Japanese language and culture, reading, and arts and crafts (particularly knitting and origami). I have often been told that I'm an "old soul"... but maybe that's just a polite way of saying I have some seriously grandma-esque interests and hobbies :) I also spent three and a half years living, working, and studying in Kagoshima and Mie, Japan, which was a very important life experience for me. I am basically fluent in Japanese and love Japanese music, comic books, and a few select anime as well.

Who I Want to Meet:
People who enjoy talking and listening, and inspire in me the desire to do both. Also people who are not stingy with their back rubs! Give me back rubs please!

Haha- dude, it was so great catching up with you~ you are one of the few people left that I can call dude and not sound completely dated... You have to some up here to freezing New England when you need a break from all of the warmth, humidity, and hurricanes. Our house is always open for visitors! Talk to you soon!
I think that if you measure the curvature of your smiles, they're exactly the same...
describe her with vague Japanese
adjectives that sort of pinpoint her
wonderfulistic qualities, yet allow
enough room for interpretation that there
could be multiple meanings attached.
Hell, there might not even be a noun, so
who knows if I'm describing Jamie or
not?! Maybe an adverb is better?
She's 'nan-to-ka' wonderful! And the
only non-Japanese friend I had while I
was in Kagoshima. Ahh, the days of
Daiei, red miso ramen, and all sorts of
alcoholic, gluttonous fun. Jamie, you're
the 'nan-to-ka' best!
her for years and years now, and no
matter how much time passes, it's
always great to reconnect. She's my
long-letter friend, the one I have to
plan an hour to write to. I remember
many a night of X-files, Playstation
and lolling around her house. Jamie is
one of the most interesting people I
know. Talented with the music, world
traveler, fluent Japanese... She rocks!!
Jamie rocks the party that rocks the
body. I'm looking forward to seeing
her soon!
she was a freshman at FSU and she
rocked my world then. The rest of us
were just a bunch of crazed fanboys,
but she was something totally
different... a girl! haha. Seriously
though, she's sweet, funny and just a
great person to be around. I miss her
SO much!
facade... beneath the surface lies
Gidgy, the Happy Chainsaw Massacrist!
Don't say I didn't warn you! ;)
weeks now but from all the hanging out
we've been doing, let me tell you -
this girl rocks! she's speaks awesome
japanese in a sexy kagoshima-ben and
she can dance at BOOTY with me till 5
in the morning! she's also a great
confidant...i'm gonna miss her when we
both go back to our own kens.
though she's halfway across the world
from me, she still makes me feel as if
she were right next to me every time
we speak. She has a cool-headedness
and maturity that is beyond words.
Always the perfect person to go to
when you have advice or are feeling
badly about yourself, she will offer
the best possibly advice and a new
(and often times better) perspective
on negative situations. Beautiful
inside and out, Jamie offers the best
of both worlds--genuine advice and an
everlasting fun personality.
