I like to chill in the senior lounge. My parents purchased a car for me that I could never even dream of affording myself. I can't park it anywhere. I cut class to smoke on Huvey Lane. I didn't have off-campus privileges as a frosh. I hang out with the jocks and wear a white hat. I hang out with the art room freaks and wear a black cape. I eat lunch at the cafe. Public schools tell me I'm a preppy; prep schools tell me I'm a hick. I miss Uve and Hutch. The Valley News hates me. The librarians hate me. I'm a white kid from rural NH, but I listen to ganster-rap, dress like I'm crunk, talk like I'm from Brooklyn, and bump my stereo all over the Upper Valley. I got drunk in a field last weekend and had to run from HPD. I wear orange hats for fun, not as a symbol of socioeconomic stratification. I ran for student counsel to see if I was popular. I wasn't. I hang out at the phone and talk about rigs. I pretended I wasn't stoned in front of my friend's parents. I hooked up with everyone in my clique, twice.
