      • years ago, in the early days of friendster, I wrote
Shai a brilliant testimonial, but he deleted it,
because I spelled something wrong, or it had
bad grammer or something. He's like that. Then
he was like "can you fix it and send it again?"
and I was like "sorry, I can't remember it, and
who's favorite movie is L'avventura anyway?"
Anyway, great dude, one of my favorites, even
if he is an anal pretentious snob. Go ahead,
        accept this testimonial, Shai!

      • There was a moment, as I stood at the wheels of
steel, where I was briefly struck dumb, my fingers
frozen: what song, what fucking trifle of a tune,
could possibly work here? I mean, this place is
on *fire*. Then Shai opened his silk-n-wool
overcoat and handed me the perfect CD. I am so
goddamn grateful, I still have his poster hanging
        on my wall.

      • Who put Dance-Wax on the floor?

We all know the answer to this
        question.

      • At the end of 1992, the four-man urban
contemporary vocal group Shai shot to the
top of the R&B and pop charts with their
debut album, ...If I Ever Fall in Love , and its
number one title track. Although they
sometimes lack quality material, the smooth
silkiness of their voices usually makes such
weaknesses easy to ignore; the group has
remained hot on the R&B charts, even if they
haven't duplicated the pop success of their
        first single.

      • I used to be reminded of Shai every
time someone ordered a Shirley Temple.
        That's changed now that he's a lush.
        Although--Shirley Temple's still do
make me think of Shai, but for
        different reasons.

      • i saw SPELLBOUND with shai ( as well
as some some amazing, much loved
others) at the film forum. i was
sitting next to shai when he loudly
booed (sp?) the girl from CT with the
many au pairs. it was super funny
because she was my least favorite as
well. i still laugh out loud when i
        think of it.

      • Shy is the greatest. He's the bestest
friend a girl could have. Without Shy,
        life would be so duuuuuuuullllllll.
