About Me:
I am someone who is very direct in the way that I speak with people. There are no hidden meanings, and I am an open book:) You can ask me anything, but be careful what you ask because you will probably get more of an answer than you were expecting!
I would describe myself as a gregarious introvert. I have no trouble being social and talking to people, I am definitely not shy, but I don't need to surround myself with many people. I need my downtime and I am easily overstimulated by the outside world. So if you ever see me testy, it is because I need to be alone to 'recharge':)
I am currently an undergrad at UCSC studying biology with my emphasis on genetics and immunology. I would like to work on a vaccine for HIV, and I would also like to work on a cure for cancer. I would also like to work on foundational research in the field of genetic engineering for humans so that we can fix the bad genes that cause illness.
I graduate from ucsc in june 07, and I plan to go on to get my PhD (in a subset of biology, most likely), and I would also like to get a second degree in math, but I am not sure when I will be squeezing /that/ in:)

Who I Want to Meet:
People who are comfortable living without a gimmick in their lives. Anyone who likes to challenge their mind, and who can be truly honest when someone asks them a question. Even if the honest answer is that they don't want to answer that question. People who can run their own life, and who are actually creating the life they want for themselves. Individuals who can think for themselves, are born problem-solvers, won't take BS from anyone, can't be pushed around, have high standards and expect others to live up to them, people with opinions and the brains to back them up with valid data, spiritually minded people who are evolving themselves on purpose:) Basically people with strong personalities and a strong sense of self.
I want to know people that will force me to raise my standards. (and my standards are pretty high already:))

If you are lucky enough to meet this girl, please do yourself a favor and listen to her. Her message for you may not be as important as her message for me but it is still wise to heed her advice. (Plus she prefers that she doesn't have to say "I told you so".)
I knew from the moment she touched me and smiled at me that she was special and even though it took me a while to realize it, I loved her from that moment on.
She is beauty. She is strangeness. She is mysterious. She is passion. She is fire. She is love. She is heaven sent.
Isabelle is one of those people who, through chance involvements, allowed me to grasp the chances thrown my way. Entire facets of my current life, indeed, the most important ones, are an indirect result of her involvement.
As we grow older, we are better able to perceive and appreciate the wonder within those who took part in our earlier lives.
Isabelle is certainly one of those people that has grown and changed, and I am very proud of the person she has become - which is also the person she's been all along.
I find it fascinating that our lives manage to find so many parallel streams, and I won't deny that jealousy over her adventures back into college forced me over that edge into persuing my degree.
Searching through memories, the ones remaining to my aging brain, encourages many smiles for Isabelle and the times she was wonderfully visible in my life.
And, yes, she really does speak her mind.
