As much as I've tried, I've never been able to stick to a
subject long enough to become truly proficient. Once the
learning curve starts to level out a bit, the amount of
new information coming in can never compete with all the
other completely new subjects vying for my attention. It
sometimes drives my wife nuts, but I'm constantly
fascinated by what I'm learning or doing whether it's
researching piano restoration, gardening, Yiddish, the 6-2
volleyball rotation, or large format photography. Our
house is filled with books with bookmarks at the end of
chapter four.
