songs we all love to hate.......
won't let me help him with that loin cloth, he will
however let me slap his ass in the jeans with
those amazing patches... anyway, all i know is that
he is KABLAM KAPOW. and... no it does not end
there. he is also KAPOW KABLAM. yes, that's
right.
mythic stature, Trumbo invites a host
of conflicting and contradictory origin
stories. My mother, for example, was
inexplicably convinced for several
months that he was born in the islands,
and kept referring to him as
my "Jamaican friend."
You can understand, then, why I count
myself extremely lucky to have visited,
with Trumbo himself, the actual
Manhattan eatery that raised him, Big
Nick's on the Upper West Side. The
minute we entered the hallowed halls of
DJ Trumbot's true backstory, a
grandmotherly Korean woman pinched him
fiercely on the cheek and plopped us
down in a corner booth with two
massive, novel-length menus. Trumbo
knew all the offerings by heart. "The
pickles," he sagely assured, "are
excellent."
When we climbed, stuffed, back out to
the city, an aging Greek, features
obscured by the backlighting of the
streetlamps, built like Olympus itself,
stopped us in the doorway and cla
testimonialage even, I owe Trumbo one
more. I will simply say that you have
never seen someone so in control of a
room than when Trumbo breaks out the
karaoke beats at All Star Lanes. He is
King and we are all his subjects. No
one else comes close. In conclusion, I
would just like to say "ClarenceCarter,
ClarenceCarter, ClarenceCarter,
ClarenceCarter, Ohhhhhh SHIT! Clarence
Carter!"
I'm sure Trumbo will get back to me
soon to let me know that I got the
number of "Clarence Carters" wrong.
He's good like that.
nice/kind/open hearted people in the
world. People who want to be your
friend and not judge. Alex is one of
them. I was a dick to you when we
first met. Thank you for finding it in
your heart to give me a second chance
to be your friend. You are the
definition of good people, dog.
as women, dance, sing, and talk
falsetto. However, Alex takes the
additional step of wandering around
wearing a 3 foot phallus. This, I
think, is going too far.
hope to have drunk, always the life of the
party, at least thats the Trumbo from back in
the day. Havn't seen him in a while, but he's
a great guy with an intoxicatingly possitive
attitude and a great sense of humor
