What I enjoy doing:
Rambling walks and conversation, hiking, watching and following women's soccer, cooking, yoga, thinking, reading, bumming around used bookstores and farmers markets, finding new places to listen to fun acoustic music, sharing stories, New Mexico, bright colors, Sunday morning with the paper and Meet the Press, Playing tour guide/Being a know-it-all, Wine, holding hands, semolina bread, planning my next trip (and the one after that), peace, Reading transcripts of the Washington Post Live Chats (Sietsema, GOG, etc), learning things, finding old things, Squarefoot gardening, organic gardening, compost, making clay turn to rich soil (you get the idea), planning next years gardens, school gardening, lessening my carbon foot print, reading too many queer mommy and daddy blogs

About Me:
Finally, an updated profile : )
I live in the best neighborhood in DC, Brightwood, right south of Walter Reed Hospital. I spend hours in my mini-gardens and love making friends with my neighbors. "Living Locally" as friendster would say (like the other side of the bed), is Naomi, who's like the smell of rain, mint chocolate chip ice cream on a hothotDCday, suprise cherry blossoms in February and the dancing in the first snow flurry of the year all wrapped up into one amazing package. She goes along with all my dopey, hair-brained ideas and makes me feel lucky to be me.
We share our life with the cats (Rosie and Guildy) and guinea pig (Eloise).
I'm always up for an adventure- either here at home or elsewhere. I love the smell of libraries, sun on the dashboard of a car, rain, new textbooks, Californian trees and the ocean.
I'm an ESOL teacher at a great public elementary school here in DC. Most of the time I get paid on time. Teaching is stressful but really the most creative work I've ever done. I'm lucky to have found a place for myself professionally for the moment.
"JT, what's with this Jewbian thing you keep refering to in your photos??"

Without much "tada" (TADA!!!!! ok, maybe a little tada) here is my blog. Probably will be filled with political rants and linguistic raves. But I'm just guessing http://adventures-in.blogspot.com/
