About Me:
Every October I like to entertain a bunch of tourists when
my leaves change color. The rest of the year, you'll find
teenagers smoking cigarettes at my Waffle House on Tunnell
Road, or skateboarders downtown. I'm into Malaprops, but I
remember when it was a hole in the wall. I remember when
Pritchard park was a menagerie of spray-paint-tags and
winos. Biltomore Village is the neighborhood where my first
really dirt-poor people lived. Just down River
Road is the flea market. Past that is the drive-in. Do you
remember when you could buy weed on Eagle street?

commercial on television which showed
consumers estatic with a captalist glow
over their new purchases while
proclaiming, "I Got It In Asheville!"
During one of these commercials my
friend Marc leaned over and whispered,
"But don't worry my doctor says it's
'just a rash." Heh.
around. im down!!
Mission, lived on a mountain in
Weaverville, smoked pot at Buzzard
Rock, hung out at Vincents Ear, The
Alternative Pub, the falls, Be Here
Now, Bele Chere, The New French Bar (in
it's original location!), went to camp
at the "old" JCC and later worked at
the "new" JCC, graduated from North
Buncombe and then UNCA, started my
career at WLOS.
The need for a big city job led me to
LA - and while it is exciting, it's no
Asheville.
You can never forget where you came
from- and I have a feeling one day I'll
be back.
lived there for three years, the first
two years of my life on the street.
the people of asheville were kind

eaten or run over. one day i hope to
return to asheville, my true home.
