ahead of me everytime we were at the
same speech tournament. That bitch!
before i had status and before i had a
pager. u could find the CLARE listening
to HIPHOP. my pops used to say it
reminded him of bebop. i said well
daddy don't u know that things go in
cycles. hey yo but wait, hup, easy,
back it up. clares got the- what? clares
got the jazz, she's got the jazz. cuz
she;s the diggity, the diggity..oh snap,
its coming..wait..uh oh....THE BOMB!
about 6 months now. it wasn't that i
didn't want to write one, i just
didn't know what to say. it was the
other day, after watching her graduate
magna cum laude with high honors from
mt holyoke that i realized there's no
way i could summarize her in a little
paragraph on some cultish internet
site. she is easily one of the most
brilliant vibrant and inspiring people
ive ever met. she always was
challenging me to grow as a person and
always taking on so much for herself
and still felt she wasnt doing enough.
she also helped me revolutionize my
concepts of love...ive been lucky
enough to be friends with her through
her four years of college and witness
the transformation into the amazing
woman she now is. clare is going to do
big things and ill be the one there
saying "i knew her back then!"
I got to MHC so the MHC godess just
KNEW it was meant to be. Although, I
think she went above the call of duty
because she's ending up being a walking
inspiration of mine.
testimonial to Clare's page because I
feared that whatever I wrote would not
be good enough. I can't possibly
explain how brilliant, inspiring,
thoughtful, and beautiful this woman
is. She has pushed me intellectually
and emotionally and I believe that I
am a better person because I know
her. I think of her as one of my
dearest friends.
cuz she was so obviously and vibrantly
smart and I was super duper
intimidated. But now that I know
Clare, while its still obvious that
she is insanly intelligent, she not
one bit scary. As a matter of fact,
shes really great. Magnetic even.
She makes me laugh, and think. The
best thing about Clare is that shes
REAL. It seems simple, but no one
else seems to master it like this girl
does. And plus, she talks with her
hands like its going out of style
(that phrase borrowed from nuestra
amiga Nohelia) and gets me to do
things like use "vibe" as a verb and
she thinks its perfectly alright to
check out cute gas station attendents
and then hop out of the car to ask for
directions after not showering for 3
days and purposly put your pony tail
off center. And shes right, it is
perfectly alright. Thats the beauty
of it, dont ya see?
remember thinking, "Woah, people here
are so much more expressive than
people in the US...except CLARE!" This
woman is a master story-teller and
she's got us enraptured in anything
she wants to say. I am constantly
amazed by you. xoxo x-roomie luv.
a crazy moho. And then I drove to Miami
with her and now all I can say is that
this girl is off the hook. She knows
whats up and isn't afraid to say it.
The world is certainly a better place
with her in it.
