About Me:
The rain. Fresh air. Dark places, too. A chorus of
crickets. The greeting of a cat. That Nick Drake LP playing
in darkness. Fireflies. Double mocha (from Caffe
Pergolesi). Origin stories. Serenades. Thunderstorms.
Zines. Taking someone for their first time to the Wax Last
Supper. Lou Reed's voice. Laughing with students. Finding
beauty. Encouraging beauty. The 1939 NY World's Fair. The
surreal.
Swedish fish. Sleeping in. Being in water. One more time
around the block because the song isn't over yet. I can't
throw anything away! I am loyal, driven, twisted (but never
harmful), a gentleman, a safe place. As a band member, I
was always late for practice; so now I play the ukulele
instead. I put on indie shows. I collect vintage postcards
of Santa Cruz and of the Berkshires.

Testimonials and Comments for Oliver
you the other day! i said, where IS
oliver anyway? and here you are!
we oughta find time to get together
highly to anyone interested in everything
that's extraordinary.
discussed "under water outer space?" It
was a beautiful moment. I am lucky
enough to have gotten to know Oliver
over cards, coffee and chit chat. He
once saved my friend and me from
certain death! Perhaps I should dye my
hair pink again just for Oliver.
played ukulele for a devoted audience.
I was so affected by his performance
that I walked right up to him and told him
he was an adorable human being.
Immediately I was embarrassed by my
own boldness, regretting the second
glass of wine I had ordered with dinner.
I promised myself Id play it cool the
rest of the evening. Fortunately, the way
Oliver put me at ease made that
unnecessary. One neednt dissemble
in front of Oliver because he seems to
see you for what you are and
appreciate you despite.
the Rind", when I first met him he was sitting at a
table in a cafe, by the window, a perfectly gentle
stranger, a man of magnificent candor. Then I saw
him play at a warehouse in san francisco, things
haven't been the same for me since.
please reply.
not actually mean. it's just that he
just knows how to use his q's.
greeting oliver. one can then lean
down and kiss his wonderful head.
2: if one is feeling down, i suggest
this: join said person under rainbow
umbrella, in the rain, and sing about
brandy and what a good wife she would
be. repeat until kids join in.
3: exquisite umbrella etiquette
know anyone else like that. He can
calmly explain to anyone in the world
exactly what he's doing and why, and
then turn it into a really fun civics
lesson. I've seen him hold a barful of
biker dudes in thrall, while he was
wearing a super fruity burgundy print
smoking jacket and a big weird hat. I've
seen him welcome vacillating crowds to
the state of freedom with an oath, a
membership card, and a kazoo, wearing
that same hat. And he really does go for
chicks with pink hair. Ask him to do the
lettuce thing, and don't be dissuaded by
his coy refusals. I first met Oliver
because I was a super fan, and I think
he may have read too much into the
interaction, but nothing has changed. A
little dog will lead the way.
