East Brunswick High School was designated a National School of Excellence in the 1990-91 Secondary School Recognition Program conducted by the U.S. Department of Education. In 1992 and 1994, the high school was cited for overall excellence and designated one of the top 140 high schools in the nation by Redbook Magazine. In 1996, East Brunswick High School was ranked as the number one high school in New Jersey by Redbook Magazine and continues to be recognized as one of the top 75 public high schools by New Jersey Monthly Magazine. Additionally, East Brunswick High School has been designated as a Star School by the New Jersey State Department of Education. East Brunswick High School's Intergenerational Program was honored by the Best Practices Program in the state of New Jersey.
