sunset when a gentle breeze blows. i
simply cannot get enough of the smell
of your canal, or the way you attract
high school kids from wilmette and
highland park. i am yours, always and
forever.
still here! I can't say enough good
things about this place, and I love
every second of being/living here ..
am only beginning to realize what a
truely marvelous town i've had the
pleasure of growing up in. As much as
i hated house parties gone bad,
squeezing ear-wigs out of the ketchup
bottle at GEE's, the STD slideshow,
and getting pennied at pep rally
freshman year, I will always think
fondly of my daily rides on the 203,
being the white girl on pomkits,
parking my car over the hill, a strong
sense of community that i'm destined
to come back to one day, Buff Joes,
Gigios, Sarkis, the beach, and (of
course) warm and fuzzy homebase. Now
that i can look at it all in
retrospect, I will finally admit that
my blood runs orange and blue!
glad it got over that whole
temperance thing
moved to the Chicago area a few years
ago. Even though she doesn't have as
much street-cred as her older brother
Chicago, she's certainly cooler than
her ugly step-sister Skokie, more
cosmo than her yuppie sister Wilmette,
and a hell of a lot less generic than
the rest of her generally lame
suburban friends. She's been a loyal
pal, but I've used her to get to know
her brother better, and now I'm
leaving her. Sorry Evanston. We can
still be friends, baby.
