About Me:
I am the CNS Helpdesk. You might also know me as the Computer Aide Station, which I used to be called before the department of Academic Technology split into Computing and Network Services and Instructional Technology Services in May 2003.
Members of the Drew Community can get support by calling the CNS Helpdesk at extension 3205, or by visiting them in the Brothers College basement.
Drews CNS Helpdesk is supervised by staff and maintained by a group of trained student assistants who handle user support for more than 3,000 students, faculty, and staff via phones and a walk-up window. Desk attendants solve problems with standard-issue Drew software packages, Internet resources, computer viruses, and help diagnose configuration or operational problems with PCs acquired through the Computer Initiative. As the campus network has developed and grown, the support role of network services and client configuration has also become a routine part of their work. Students also assist in the basic upkeep and support of CNS servers and consult in the use and development of web pages.
Additionally, the CNS Helpdesk provides supervision, support and materials to the PC labs located in the basement of Brothers College.

Who I Want to Meet:
ATOPS and CHOPS: Drewids who used to or currently work for Academic Technology or Computing and Network Services... People who like to race golf carts, fix computers, and know what the "network dance of joy" is... People who remember posting to NOTES, Phorum, Helpdesk, Beacon, or Supportworks...People who know that official time must be kept by a 1970s vintage Heathkit clock... People who remember how to fix an ESS2 in seven easy steps or know all eight rules of eXtreme Deployment...

Graduated AT/CHOPS are more than welcome to visit or email. Some of you would definitely be surprised at the change. For the good.
McGregor, but I think you need to lay off.
Call me when you've done a reinstall
using nothing but 3.5" disks.
We know what's up with "beep - boop, ALL
LINES BUSY! beep - boop, ALL LINES
BUSY! beep - boop, ALL LINES BUSY!
beep - boop, ALL LINES BUSY!"
Yeah, been there, done that.
Wide Network. I had Kermit. Yeah,
that's right, we used software named for
a frickin' Muppet. And a 9600 baud text-
based web connection. I had to upgrade
my CI laptop to color...in 1995. And it
was a 486 running Windows 3.1. That's
what we call old skool.
cool. All yall CHOPs are fakers.
acadtech is trueplayaz for rizeel.
MM Lab!
All the *really cool kids* torment the
desk attendants with cardboard-
submarine antics!
