Texas for one semester and took English, Math and
Racquetball, then sought out music full-time. But Clay

Pets: Border Collie: Semi (which is short for Semi Sweet)
and Horses: Sandee & Jimmy. But Clay has tons of animals
        on his farm.

Other Animals On The Farm: Sandee foaled a stud colt on
April 15th, 1996 around midnight (tax night) and was named
Clay's Texas Taxi. (Fitting huh)!! Clay also has a
horse, "Where Were You", affectionately called "Waldo".
Also, horse, "Bailey" (aka "Collarbone")-This being the
horse Clay fell from. MaClay has a pet goat; Imogene's the
name, which Clay has said is a sweet little angel (the
goat y'all, you already know MaClay is the sweetest!).
MaClay even hops up on her back for a ride once in a
while. Looks like this little "kid" is an animal-lover
herself. Clay raises Santa Gertrudis cattle.

        Favorite Actor: John Wayne

        TV Show: Andy Griffith

        Hero: God

Favorite Singer: Elvis Presley (But Clay has been
influenced by many artists such as Lionel Richie, George
Strait, Jimmy Rogers, Hank Williams, Buck Owens, James
Taylor, George Jones, Bob Seger and Merle Haggard, the
rock band Boston, & his father, Ernest Clayton, Sr.).

All-Time Favorite Rock Group: Boston (and Clay also likes
        Air Supply).

Favorite Non-Country Songs: "Like A Rock" by Bob Seger
and "Maggie May" by Rod Stewart.

Favorite Songwriter: Tim Mensy (wrote "Where Were You" on
Clay's 3rd album and co-wrote "That's Us" with Clay on his
        4th album).

Favorite Album: Clay has said that his favorite album is
Killin' Time by Clint Black. That may change at any time,
but right now, Clay loves that album. He said that if you
take ten wonderful songs and put them together, you get
that album. Of course, Clay has said that he has more
Jimmy Rogers' tapes in his truck than anything else. Clay
really loves the songs that speak about real life; just
like the ones he writes himself.

Favorite Boots: Boots made out of alligator. Why you ask,
Clay says they make him recall his childhood when he grew
up around the swamps and what else, alligators. Plus, I
        bet they are really comfortable.

Favorite Jeans: No endorsement here, but Clay says his
favorite jeans are Wrangler. He not only wears them during
his concerts and on the road, he wears them around his
house and to work in on his ranch. He says they are the
best wearing and best lasting jeans out there. I'd say
Wrangler has the best seat in the house.

First Horseback Ride: At Age 2.

First Guitar Lesson: At Age 9, from his Dad.

Favorite Guitar: Taylor Guitars out of California. Clay
        also likes Gibsons.

Walker Special added to their menu!)

        graduated the year before Clay.

Odd Jobs From The Past: Scrubbing toilets and taking out
the trash at the Goodyear Plant in Beaumont Texas. Clay
also worked as a shoe salesman at one time!!!

Earliest Performance: When Clay was 11 or 12. His cousin
threw a party for the people in the neighborhood. Clay
        says, "I was hooked".

First Song Clay Wrote: "Lady With A Golden Heart" - when
he was 15. Clay says, "I had fallen in love with a girl
who could care less about me. You won't find that on any
        of my albums!"

First Break: Clay sang as a junior in highschool when he
performed at George Jones Country Amusement Park. By the
time he was a senior, he was playing the local bars.

Armadillo in Beaumont TX, by award-winning producer James
