Mr. Rogers
because I can only assume I knew Arthur at a
darker time in his life...much darker. He gave me
"The Stranger." Maybe he'd just read it and was
proud or something. I'll leave that one open...but
his reading isn't the prized quality he posseses.
Neither is being able to navigate his way around
any instrument and banging out a halfway decent
pop song on it, no matter what. Nor is it that he
can write the sassiest get-back-at-the-passive-
agressive-roomate magnetic poetry ever. Nor
even is it his original print Mr. Rogers sheet
music, thesis on why the 'Rog' should run for
prez, or that he's got a Sesame Street wall
poster. It's the fact that he can whip up some
freaking good songs about my blue vibrator
climbing the Empire State building, or
spelunking in the caverns of his ass without
missing a single beat. That, my friends, is unique.
country and he had to get rid of some stuff. I
took a bunch of his books. "Without Feathers"
was one of them and his profile reminded me of it.
Boy, was it ever funny at parts! Sweet story,
huh?
told me that I didn't have any pants on,
but then I thought, "Why would I not
have any pants on?" So I went about
my daily activities, work, etc. And then
around 8:30 p.m. that night I realized
that I actually didn't have any pants on.
But what's so messed up about that is
that I would just assume if Arthur told
me I didn't have any pants on that he
was trying to trick me. And I suppose
that he knew that I wouldn't believe him,
thus making me walk around all day
without pants. See, if he really was
looking out for me, he would have known
to just let me figure it out for myself.
