About Me:
I have core beliefs firmly rooted in family values,
capitalism, and the importance of higher education. I give
really good hugs, but can be a stickler when it comes to
the rules. I have been going through some rough times
lately--the Internet bust really hurt, and recently my bars
Blue Chalk Cafe and Left at Albequerque have closed, just
when I needed a drink the most. My male-to-female ratio
teeters at 3-to-1, but that doesn't mean I don't get my
schwerve on at the Old Pro during Stanford football season.
I enjoy a nice chardonnay at Shorline Ampitheater as James
Taylor plays, a trip to Nordstrom, and a nice hearty piece
of coffee cake from Hobees. I spend my time trying to spot
local dignitaries like the Steves (Young and Jobs), now
that there is no Chelsea Clinton action since 2001
graduation.

Although you don't exactly look like me,
you have a lot in common with me: the
diversity of our population, the prices of
our homes, the quality of our schools,
etc. However, you have a flourishing
university and some good companies
too (Hewlett-Packard). However, like
your neighbor Los Altos, I am
residential.
Varsity, buying used rekkids at Chimera,
bicycling to Paly and Wilbur, candy bars from
Century Liquors. Them was the best and the
worst of times. Somehow, it's hard to miss all
the gelato shops . . .
for the past 36 years, and I've been
there for you through ALL of it: the
Varsity, New Varsity, the Image,
Woolworths, Douglas Fabrics, Roots,
Roxy, Rapps, 42nd Street, The Keystone,
Tropical Oddysey, The Cotton Works,
Liddicoats, Baskin-Robbins, The
University Creamery, The Festival
Cinema, Chimera, Recycled Records, City
Feet, Old Uncle Gaylords, The good
Earth, The Plowshare- and the list goes
on...I think that Paly grads and other
locals should pay hommage to this home-
sweet-home by posting your favorite PA
memory...let's dispel this myth that
shallow alto is all about nouveau riche
bullshit...it wasn't always...and may
even ressurect- or become a ghost
town...
you have THE NUTHOUSE!
