I used to go to this kiddie park on
Bleecker Street with my daughter and
while she was playing with her little
pals, I'd gaze out onto Bleecker,
daydreaming. Every so often, a vision of
beauty would saunter by, oblivious to
the world around him: Ben.
I've known Ben for SOOO long and the
whole time he's been the same-a shining
star destined for greatness-talent
oozing out of his pores faster than the
public has time to slurp up-but
eventually (and it happens even as you
read this) the world will continue to
discover the Gem that is Ben and
everyone will experience the blossom of
a true artist. oh yeah, and he used to
try and french kiss me...
I know we are all unique and beautiful
like snowflakes, but let's face it,
some people are more unique and
beautiful than others. And Ben is an
oblong deconstructed Baroque snowflake
made of crystal meth, that falls up
into the cloud rather than down. I
think God just gave Ben more juice than
the rest of us. When he was 16 he drove
his dad's minivan around during the
winter with the heat turned on really
high - but the windows rolled all the
way down. "I like to feel both at
once," he said. There are very few
people I could call 'irrepressible,'
but Ben is definitely one of them. You
just try repressing the guy.
The first time I met Ben he thought I
didn't like him, but the truth is I've
always liked him. He is fun and sweet,
and we've more nights of awesome times
together than could ever be
counted......what could you aske for in
a friendster?
Ben grew up in Palo Alto like me, it's
our secret, don't abuse it! It was hard,
we were ridiculed, we were outsiders,
rebels, we drank milkshakes at the
peninsula creamery and alas we never
knew eachother for consolation BUT NOW
we do and I cling to Ben as a reminder
of what we could have been and ....that
we got out. Ben is also sweet and
handsome, I wish I saw more of him. I
get happy just thinking about him.
