About Me:
The Evergreen State College is a progressive, public
liberal arts and sciences college located in Olympia,
Washington, in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. Since
opening its doors in 1971, Evergreen has established a
national reputation for leadership in developing
innovative
interdisciplinary, collaborative and team-taught academic
programs. The college has a vibrant undergraduate program,
a graduate program, and five public service centers that
constitute a unique academic setting. The College values a
student-centered learning environment, a link between
theory and practice, and a multicultural community of
diverse faculty, students and staff working together.
Current enrollment is approximately 4,300.

7 years of my life via enrollment or
employment. the only other relationship
in my life that has lasted this long is with
my mom...and that's b/c i didn't get my
own place until i was 8.
similarities with Caltech: (1)
Historicly it has been relatively safe
to smoke pot on campus, and (2) both
have produced alleged 'eco-
terrorists'. However, the schools are
quite different. Evergreen is a
hippie school, whereas Caltech is a
hub of the military-industrial
complex. Caltech is arguably the top
science school in the world, whereas
some consider Evergreen to be a
diploma mill. Evergreen is surrounded
by forest, whereas Caltech is in a
cloud of smog. People at Evergreen are
relaxed and lay-back, whereas many at
Caltech are sleep-deprived, over-
worked zombies. Unlike Caltech
(correct us if this changes),
Evergreen offers a B.S. in computer
science, despite having easier, weaker
computer science classes. (But just
try getting a job with a C.S. degree
from Evergreen - good luck. An E.A.S.
degree from Caltech with a
concentration in C.S. really is
better.)
WTO protests and present it as a final
project. i wrote my own contract to go to new
york city and work at photo magazine...i
even ate more vegan chili than ic ould ever
have imagined...all thanks to you. you even
brought Ken Kesey to see me off into the
cold, cruel world...i miss you, my freaky little
rainforested protesting sweetheart...don't

morning... i seem to recall a dark-haired girl
who broke my heart, a man who lived in a
walk-in closet, kentucky derby day (1994), a
squad of happy people, and 1/3 of
everything (including the manifesto)... then i
got a job washing dishes and learned to
sail... back in the good ol' world.
calling you bitch....Bitch, where's my
damned diploma, so quick to charge $ 50
late fees and scrap the boats but when it
comes to producing something like a bill for
tuition or a fucking diploma you act as
though the weed was too good and you
spaced it and since it was weed and I being
a former Geoduck it's supposed to be all
good. Thumb-piano wants the diploma the
good people of washington paid for. I may
look like a chicken but I'll tear your eyes out
if I don't get that nearly worthless BS I
earned bitch.
speechless, mostly becuase I forgot how
to talk good once I left the greens.
[heart] Evergreen. I go back and smell
the siding in Alphabet Soup, pick wild
strawberries, and look around for some
of the freaks I knew. Class of 2000,
Great Works '96-'97, James Joyce '98?
or '99?, were the best of the best.
