boss around; that Anna is the
exception should tell you something
of her caliber as a person. There's
just no resisting Anna. Her warmth,
open-ness, generosity, wit and
singular, hilarious sensibility make
her one of those people you
categorize as "special." Anna gets
the important things: the absurdity of
life; the story-telling potential of cat
behavior; how to use the English
language to devastatingly funny
effect. The other thing about Anna is,
when she loves you, it's for real. No
bullshit, just love love love. Unlike a
lot of so-called adults, she knows
how to apologize. The only thing as
big as Anna's heart is her hair, but
her hair, beautiful though it is,
doesn't invite you over to watch Dr.
Zhivago and feed you Diet Dr. Pepper
and make you feel everything will be
okay. It does, however, make you
