I am a public school math teacher. I teach IB math, math studies, precalculus, algebra 2, physics and biology. Being a teacher is more than a 40 hour a week job. Winding down and relaxing after a day full of kids is important for me.

I like Blues. If Im lucky I'll get a Lindy Hop with Blues. Mellow Jazz is nice too. I'm getting back in to swing dancing now too. I've been taking dance lessons for over four years now. I know how to protect a follow on a crowded dance floor.

I am told I march to the beat of my own drummer. I am a thinker. I work at not being so serious. I am an INTP, from Briggs Myers. You should really look that up if you are reading this. I am still surprised how well this describes me. Still, can you know anything real about a person through a bunch of text in a profile?

You find what you look for. If you look for happiness, you find it. If you look for something to be grumpy about, you find it. I try to make a conscious choice about what I look for. I know I am responsible for my own happiness. I look for ways to build and improve a relationship. I expect there to be bumps. I expect to find ways around, over, under, or through those bumps. I persevere. I expect there to be sun most days. I expect to listen. I expect to be listened to. I expect to make adjustments in myself as I go. I expect to forgive and be forgiven. You get out of a relationship what you put in.

I am not a flashy guy. I have been told several times that my most redeeming quality is that I am sincere. I don't even know what that means. I am in a place in my life now where I am looking to be with someone. I know how the rollercoaster ride goes. Sure that's wonderful. But I want more that just the initial drop.

I enjoy a quiet conversation over brandy or a glass of wine. Sometimes life just moves too fast, a slow walk down by the river or lake can be a nice change of pace. I am not very open when I'm in a group. So, I hope to find someone that can tolerate me being open only when we are alone. I'm not great in the kitchen, but I really like preparing meals with a woman. I'm looking to meet new people. It doesn't have to start serious. Actually, it shouldn't. It takes me a long time to get to know someone. I am not one to rush into a relationship. I believe that good relationships start with being friends. I want whoever I'm with to be my best friend.
