About Me:
I love life and take every day as a gift. A native New Yorker, I came to Chicago to do a Master's in the Social Sciences at the U. of C. and decided to stay on. I've lived off-and-on in France and Belgium for two years and have gained a real appreciation for other cultures and their lifestyles. (28 countries so far— woo-hoo!) I love to talk to people who can show me a new way of seeing things; the best conversation I've had recently was one that made me take a long, hard look at why I believe what I do. I value my friendships, try to be a good listener, and enjoy meeting cool, down-to-earth people. I have a passion for journalistic writing and love sharing a meaningful story with readers that otherwise never would have known it. At the same time, I love to sing Indigo Girls songs and know the Jive scenes of the movie "Airplane!" by heart (hee-hee). Oh— and though Montreal and Jerusalem are up there, New York still has the best bagels in the world (not that we New Yorkers are cocky ;-)).

Who I Want to Meet:
People who speak peacefully. People for whom tolerance is important. People who can appreciate who I am. I've traveled enough, done enough, and seen enough to know that you can find kindness in the most unexpected of places. I try to live every day with that attitude.

mutual friend one evening on the Upper
East Side. To be perfectly specific, I
met him on the corner of 2nd Avenue
and 90th Street. After a fun Italian
dinner, I introduced David to my Parisian
roommate David proceeded to speak
with him in a fluent stream of beautiful
French sentences. A writer who loved to
travel and could speak fluent French?
This guy seemed pretty cool. David is a
great friend. Hes open-minded,
genuine, and sweet as can be. Hes the
kind of friend that you never have to feel
self-conscious around. David, why did
you move from NYC to Chicago just
when I moved from Chicago to NYC?
The Big Apple misses David!
fantastic listener. In fact, he might be
too good... He's eclectic, well-read, and
capable of carrying on an intelligent
conversation outside of academia--
quite a feat at the U of C. All that's left to
say is, "Wooo, David!"
NYC bagel and a Chicago
roll-with-a-hole. But I imagine he'd
drop either for a baguette and
Beaujolais. Such fine cultural and
gastronomic sensibilities make him a
person you should know. Glad I do.
open; friendly; and talkative.
I am glad to know David, if, for no
other reason, he brings me closer to
cracking the mysterious and highly
secretive Chicago Social Science Ring.
(Mwahaha!)
