These days a lot of my life feels like a second-rate Leonard Cohen cover-- imagine The Goo Goo Dolls doing "Alexandra Leaving" or Norah Jones doing "Hey, That's No Way To Say Goodbye"-- like, it could be beautifully heartbreaking or heartbreakingly beautiful but it only ends up feeling insincere and predictable to the point where it's embarassing.
