time when you helped me on one of the
springtime capybara roundups, a couple
years back now, I think. You were all
gung ho in your brand new leather
chaps. You looked so cute! [side note:
I'm pretty sure the chaps were new,
and not involved in any illicit
activity] And in spite of your
inexperience, you did splendidly
running here and there, nudging
capybaras left and right, making sure
none were left behind. That night, as
we sat around the campfire, eating
beans and tofu, I was touched by the
sad songs you sang to help the
capybaras settle down and sleep for
the night. I confess I was hoping you
would decide that this was the life
for you and join me in the capybara
business. I should have known you
weren't the kind of man to be tied
down. And branded. Oops, just my
little fantasy. Anyhow, David. You're
a hell of a caballero and a good man
to boot.
