Testimonials and Comments for Chris
people i've ever met. he drinks a
gallon of coffee a day and is one of
the most anal retentive people i've
ever met. but i love it. he makes me
feel sane and that's quite a
challenge. today, he gave me this
fabulous CD by "The Movies", and it's
fantastic. This boy deserves the best
and will definitly get it because i
know that he's not as innocent as
people think.
long after first meeting him last
summer to realize how cool this guy
is... i absolutely adore the fact that
he's got a genuinely good heart...
conversations with chris are always a
pleasure, as he's got a great outlook
on life, always with something positive
and insightful to mention. and his
taste in music... fantastic!
suburban bass, harthouse , platipus
and warp were the premiere labels,
right around the time when Jeff Mills
put out X-103 (Atlantis). I was looking
for Waveform transmissions vol1
(yeah hedphuq), Chris and I spoke.
Chris was one of the only switched
"on" people in BR, then working at
the CD store, he got me the CD's!!! I
gave him a tape and since he's been
all over the place Djin' , setting up the
only tight parties in New Orleans and
being the most successful Virgin
manager in the country. Pimpin in
New york and now L.A.
On a personal tip, Chris is the
personification of genuine and
humble. He has always been a cool
cat and a flair for style and good
music with a golden ear ... down
from day one.
I have not gotten to hang with him in
ages, but he is one of my mentors
and helped me get into Djing when
most people were just interested in
being cool and posers...much
respect!
more obessed with the Peaks than I am.
Can drop some knowledge about music
like no other. Knows how to have fun.
Has a fondness for lost puppies and
strippers.
a mountain (called the "Ball Buster")
in North Carolina many years ago, about
five of us settled down to an excellent
campfire and some, well, other
amusement. The elevation was such that
clouds were rolling through the
campsite and it was totally tripped
out. Chris, always musically prepared,
breaks out the homegrown mix tape and
walkman and one by one passes it over
to each of us to hear "Mother Earth"
flowing through the darkness as the
cool humidity of clouds roll through
and the fire blazes gloriously... One
of the most surreal experiences I've
ever had hiking and it wouldn't have
been possible if we hadn't convinced
Chris to pack up the side of that
mountain with us. Moral: Chris will
always add a unique flavor to whatever
you're cooking up.
