About Me:
I like Irish pubs, burritos, border collies, horses, domestic architecture (modern and ancient), deserts, Sunday mornings in bed, and evenings when I stumble home. I like the rhythm of a horse's cantering stride and the first days in spring when it's warm enough to sit outside and do my homework, instead of being stuck in the library. I like animals, usually alive, but if they are dead and skeletal, that's ok too.
I have to remind myself, every now and then, not to bitch so much. I'm doing exactly what I always wanted to do, and while there are bumps in the road, I'd rather be where I am now than anywhere else. Except maybe Cairo. Yeah, I'd probably rather be in Cairo...
I find myself continually tired, but at the end of each day, it seems like I got something done, and so the tiredness is generally well-earned. I like being tired if I feel like I accomplished something.
There are only a very few things I don't like.
Ketchup, and people touching my neck are the main ones.

be the "Amazing Conversation Award." I
can honestly say there is few people in
the world that I would rather sit and have
coffee with. For one she has amazing
stories about her passions, digs, travels
and people she has met. Two, she is
sooo fricking smart it kills me! I'm so
glad that I met her. God knows she is
going to be a famous Arcdheologist
some day and I will be lucky enough to
call her a friend!
about, oh, a few thousand years. Ever
since we first lived about 1200 years
before the common era. I was then the
Pharoah Ramses the Great and "Kate"
as she is now called, was my beautiful
wife Nefertari. We had a real blast
back then, building temples, enslaving
the Nubians and eating grapes on yachts
on the Nile. But then we died, and the
stunning acheivements of our time fell
into dust. But now we have been
reincarnated, and life in the twenty-
first century seems pretty cool. Now we
can be found watching movie previews on
the computer and drinking beer (which
we invented way back in the day)and
discussing our drunken exploits of
Yore. Luxury has come a long way, we
dont even need to be kings and queens
anymore! Seriously though, Kate is
kickass, passionate and a bundle of fun
wrapped in papyrus! Kate even taught me
how to write my name in Heiroglyphics
too: "Raven-sun-snake"!
the kind of doormat that makes you
want to come inside, take off your
shoes, light up the hookah and talk
(or listen to her talk) about
archaeology or family or literature or
flatulence or nothing for hours.
Kate's a loveable dork, a Superman who
forgets to take off his Clark Kent
disguise, a closet genius. True to
the end like a Border Collie and twice
as smelly, Kate's the friend you
didn't even realize you needed until
you were charmed past the point of no
return. I miss HQ, too, baby. Show
Chicago what Meffa's all about.
that I know "just get it". Sometimes we
will just glance at each other in
response to what was happening around
us, and there will be a moment of
silent understanding between us both
followed by laughter. Kate is the shit,
even though she's a Trekkkie.
