ATASBAWAH BIOGRAFI

It was early in February 2004 when ATASBAWAH was firstly pronounced itself as an eclectic band. ATASBAWAH personally defines the term ‘eclectic’ as a wide-ranging assortment of heavy music of any metal / rock genre variants. Any of those highly spirited tonal music such as thrash metal, death metal and Hardcore were and are the embryos of heavy sounds. The very first formation takes Affan (ex-oddity) on vocal Heru (ex-RASCAL SOLDIER) on guitar, and two CEMETERY ex-personnels; Anto on guitar and Hendra on bass. An additional drummer, Arifin, supports ATASBAWAH performances on its early developments. Philosophically, ATASBAWAH was each personnel’s reflections of life, search of self identity, satisfication of self esteem, and contemplation of inter-individual (social) relationship. The ups and downs of life which inevitably puts human into many different points had inspired us to adopt the name ATASBAWAH as our identity. During its journey to become a mature and serious band, ATASBAWAH faced a situation that required us to have a permanent drummer. Aziz (ex-Psycho Funk) was one of the most appealing candidates who matched our band’s conception and ideology. Since 2005 Aziz became ATASBAWAH new personnel. Having Aziz in our formation, ATASBAWAH was heading to a progress in our music career. ATASBAWAH started to work on several materials afterwards. In February 2006 ATASBAWAH succeeded in finishing a mini album (EP) entitled voice of disappointment. Recorded as a demo album and a promo album as well, the recording process was proceeded at Strato Studio. The album also marked AB’s devotion and sign of self existence in music scene. Voice of dissapointment turned out to be a parameter to ATASBAWAH musical quality. Many were taken as lessons from the album and from it we continue to make progress. Amongst our tight show schedule and personal business, we still go on with our writing process as ATASBAWAH needs to collect materials for the next ‘real’ album. Unfortunately, due to some personal issues one of our brothers, Heru, left ATASBAWAH. Nevertheless, Heru’s excuse did not reduce ATASBAWAH spirit to keep on working for the best. In the middle of our efforts to gather the recording materials, AB recorded a single entitled hamparan jiwa at unbound studio (now murvals studio) and finch studio. The single was finally released in November 2007. As an effort to strengthen and intensified the sound guitar division, ATASBAWAH recruited IId a.k.a Berux (personnel of Brooklyn and Zero Parade) on rhythm and lead guitar. For the complete album which is scheduled to be released in Feb 2009, AB will take Murval records as partner.
